Welcome to a Tilltal work shop at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm April 11th–12th 2019.

The aim of the project is to make the speech recordings of the dialect and folklore archives more accessible for research using methods from speech technology. The project is run in collaboration between the Institute for Language and Folklore (ISOF)/ Language Council of Sweden (Språkrådet), Royal Institute of Technology (KTH)/ Division of Speech, Music and Hearing and the National Archives - more info can be found here: https://www.sprakochfolkminnen.se/sprak/sprak-och-it/spraklig-infrastruktur/tilltal.html

We have invited Johan Oomen from the Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid in the Netherlands, to open the meeting with a key note based on his extensive experience of working with AV archives. The main purpose of the workshop days though, is to present the project in more depth and discuss it with a smaller circle of invited experts.

We are planning to start after lunch on Thursday April 11th at 13.00 and finalize discussions Friday afternoon no later than 15.00. We are hoping to see you as our guest and look forward to hearing your comments on the project's development. If you would also like to show something relating to our project themes, that is also most welcome.

Please let us know if you you will be able to attend by mail to johanna.berg@varldskulturmuseerna.se as soon as possible and no later than 2019-04-07. Please also let us know if you have any food preferences we should take into account when planning the meals.
